INDEX: Freedom of Expression

As part of the Identity in Marketing: Theories and Practices, we were required to undertake multiple projects to understand the impact of text and image in communication- especially marketing communications. Moving beyond the world of commercial success and advertisements, this project required us to analyse and establish the importance of written and visual expression in creating awareness and driving public opinion.

For this purpose, the team identified 'INDEX', an international nonprofit that champions the cause of and defends free expression worldwide. To display how graphic images and the written word impact the working of such non-profits by way of publications and exhibitions, an exhibition addressing the issues of artistic liberty, and freedom of thought and speech, with a specific focus on Mexico, Somalia, Bangladesh, Turkey and the United Kingdom was designed and curated for INDEX.
